Cannabis farm uncovered in Droylsden after early-morning police raid

A CANNABIS farm has been dismantled and a suspect arrested after police carried out an early‑morning drugs raid in Droylsden.

Officers forced entry to a property on Dunkirk Street following a tip-off by members of the public.

Inside, they found a cannabis grow, along with equipment suspected of being used to bypass the electricity supply.

One person was arrested at the scene, on suspicion of cultivating cannabis and abstracting electricity. They remain in custody for questioning.

Officers from the Droylsden Neighbourhood Team, supported by Special Constables, attended the incident on Monday morning (February 16).

PC Aaron Kincaid, from Greater Manchester Police, said: “We are always looking to act on intelligence received from members of our community to identify and disrupt criminality.

“We want you to know that we listen to you all and without information from the public, the police could not do our jobs effectively. Controlled drugs ruin lives and this morning is a great result in the fight against organised criminals.”
