AN AUDENSHAW man has been charged with a number of sexual offences against another male.
Hmdan Mensor faces seven counts of rape and three of sexual assault by touching after being arrested on December 21 following a report of a rape at an address in the town that day, at which point further allegations were made.
The 20-year-old has been remanded into custody following reports of an number of incidents since October against the man in his 30s.
Greater Manchester Police say that as the suspect and the man are known to one another, it is not looking for anyone else in connection with the investigation.
The man is currently being supported by specialist teams as we continue to investigate.
Detective Chief Inspector Abdul Kahar, from GMP’s Tameside district, said: “This is naturally a disturbing report to receive and we are working to establish the full circumstances of the allegations, as well as to ensure all available evidence is secured.
“We quickly secured an arrest once the report was made to us, and are supporting the man who disclosed these allegations throughout this difficult process.
“Criminal proceedings in this case are now active, and it is important that people do not speculate about this case to avoid jeopardising legal proceedings.”
