A Tameside business owner is celebrating national recognition after being named a winner at this year’s Female Business Awards, a UK-wide scheme celebrating the achievements of female-led small businesses.
Grania Nesbitt, founder of MCR Content Studios, was announced as the winner in the Creative Business category at a gala awards evening held in Manchester on November 14. She was also named runner-up in the Business Support category, marking a double success on the night.
The Female Business Awards received more than 800 nominations across 16 categories this year, recognising innovation, impact and leadership among small businesses run by women across the country.

Hazel Woodward, co-founder of the Female Business Awards, said judges assessed nominees on a wide range of criteria, including marketing, client feedback, innovation and passion for their work.
“To be confirmed as a winner highlights the positive influence that Grania is making within her industry,” she said. “Finalists demonstrated exceptional standards of service, client satisfaction and business impact.”
Grania described the award as a proud moment after just over a year and a half of running her business.
“Winning this award is a real privilege and an acknowledgement of the hard work I’ve put into building MCR Content Studios,” she said. “I’m especially proud of how many female entrepreneurs we’ve been able to support, not just with their content, but by helping them build confidence and feel more comfortable telling their stories.”
MCR Content Studios is a female-focused creative hub offering content photography and video shoots, with a strong emphasis on supporting women-led brands and businesses with their social media presence. The studio focuses on confidence-building, storytelling and helping clients use digital content to grow their businesses.
Reflecting on the awards evening, Grania added:
“Being in a room with more than 170 other female business owners was incredibly inspiring. It was my first awards event and definitely one I’ll never forget.”
Janine Friston, co-host of the Female Business Awards and founder of the Female Business Network, said the awards are about recognising the realities faced by women in business.
“These women often juggle multiple responsibilities while still creating meaningful success,” she said. “It’s inspiring to see their dedication and achievements celebrated.”
Grania hopes the recognition will help her reach new audiences and continue growing the business, allowing her to support even more entrepreneurs across Greater Manchester and beyond.
