HOMELESSNESS charity Emmaus Mossley has welcomed a new Chair of Trustees, with long-serving social care professional Keith Skerman stepping into the role.
Keith, who lives in Tameside, was officially appointed at a recent board meeting, succeeding outgoing chair Andrew Kilburn.
Andrew, a trustee since 2011, has steered the organisation for the past five years.
Emmaus Mossley offers a lifeline to people who have experienced homelessness, providing a home, support and the chance to rebuild their confidence and skills.

Up to 26 people at a time can live in the Mossley community, with many involved in the popular second-hand shop on Queen Street.
Keith is looking forward to building on the charity’s achievements, saying: “I am excited to lead this successful organisation that supports people to progress in their lives after homelessness.
“As a resident of Tameside, I want to contribute to this valued local charity, building on what has been achieved to ensure that Emmaus Mossley thrives for many years to come.”
With more than 47 years of experience in adult social work and social services, Keith brings extensive knowledge from both the public and voluntary sectors.
He’s explained that one of his first priorities will be strengthening the charity’s board.

Emmaus Mossley is now appealing for more trustees to help shape its future, particularly people with skills in governance, retail, health and safety, or supported housing.
Andrew offered his backing to his successor, commenting: “I’d like to wish all the best to Keith, the new Chair of Trustees. My message to him is that he’s very lucky.
“He’s joining a great organisation with a really good staff team and a good bunch of trustees. I think he’s very fortunate to be associated with a great organisation, as he will get a huge amount of satisfaction… and I know that’s why he wanted to join us in the first place.”
