Warm welcome at Staveleigh Medical Centre’s pre-winter hub

A STALYBRIDGE clinic is inviting the community to come together each week for its Pre-Winter Warm Hub, offering free food, drinks and clothing to anyone in need.

The hub, run by staff at Staveleigh Medical Centre will take place every Friday from 11am until 3pm in the surgery’s car park, next to Stalybridge Bus Station on Market Street.

Visitors can enjoy hot meals, warm drinks and pick up essential supplies including gloves, hats, blankets and donated clothing.

Importantly, residents do not need to be patients at Staveleigh to take part – the doors are open to everyone.

Organiser Rebecca Jagatsingh said: “We are here for anybody that may need a bit of extra support in the coming months.

“We recognise the challenges people face in colder months and if we can provide some clothing or a warm drink and food, the Winter Hub is that place.”

Donations of warm clothing and other items are also being collected and anyone who can contribute is encouraged to drop supplies into the surgery’s reception.

The launch event coincided with the Anthony Seddon Fund’s Baton of Hope walk, which raised awareness for mental health across Tameside.

The walk passed by Staveleigh between 1.30pm and 2pm, with staff showing their support with music, balloons and plenty of smiles.
