Crowds flock to Stalybridge for Bridge Fest 2025

THOUSANDS of people descended on Stalybridge town centre yesterday for the fourth edition of Bridge Fest, the free music festival organised by volunteers from the Stalybridge Town Team.

The day began at noon in Armentières Square with a rousing performance from Mossley’s St John’s Brass Band, setting the tone for a full day of live entertainment. They were followed by blues outfit The Cherry Hintons, who kept the energy high as crowds gathered in the square.

This year’s festival expanded its programme, introducing performance poetry and showcasing young local singers at the Civic Hall. The highlight of the afternoon was a special appearance by the English National Jazz Orchestra, drawing a capacity audience.

Venues across the town centre reported being full throughout the day, as residents and visitors alike enjoyed a wide range of performances in different styles and settings.

Organisers praised the efforts of volunteers, performers, and local venues, calling the event “a true celebration of Stalybridge’s community spirit and cultural life.”
