Taco Bell delays opening of Ashton site

TACO Bell has announced a delay of up to two weeks of the opening of its site in Ashton-under-Lyne – hours after revealing its initial date.

But when it is unveiled at Ashton Moss Leisure Park, a drive through facility will now be part of it.

Bosses at the food giant now say the site, in what was Eat Inn Chinese Buffet, should now open on Monday, September 15.

‘Final adjustments’ is given as the reason why it is no longer Monday, September 1.

But Taco Bell says its drive through will now be launching as part of the initial offering.

When it does open, the firm will be linking up with Willow Wood Hospice by helping raise funds and awareness.

The first three people in the queue will also receive free tacos for a year.

Ashton’s branch of Taco Bell will be operated by Soul Foods, which already operates 386 restaurants across the UK and Canada and serves more than two billion customers across the world each year.

Taco enthusiasts can also become members of the app to enjoy a complimentary Crunchy Taco, along with earning points that can be redeemed for free menu items and rewards.

Loyalty members also receive exclusive access to special offers and early releases. People can also skip the line by placing orders through the app.

The restaurant will be open from 10am until 11pm Monday-Thursday and 10am-12am from Friday to Sunday.

It will have multiple customer accessibility points, such as free Wi-Fi, power outlets and comfortable seating.

And this branch is the latest stage of the huge firm’s targeting of the UK market.

“At Taco Bell, we’re world famous for our unique and craveable menu, flavour explosion and bold experiences from innovative new items to iconic classics,” said Chet Patel, chief marketing officer of Taco Bell UK and Europe.

“We’re excited to bring our unique brand culture and connect with the people of Ashton-Under-Lyne.”
