Emergency services have been called to an incident in Audenshaw this afternoon (July 31), after a child was struck by a car.
Police and ambulance crews arrived at the scene on Droylsden Road, near the Audenshaw tram stop. An air ambulance also landed nearby to assist with the emergency response.
Greater Manchester Police confirmed they were called to reports of a collision involving a child and a vehicle. The child is expected to be taken to hospital for treatment. No arrests have been made at this stage.
A section of the A662 Droylsden Road has been closed off while the incident is dealt with. Traffic is building on surrounding routes, including near the Snipe Retail Park.
At this time, no further details about the child’s condition or the circumstances of the incident have been released.
