A SUMMER initiative designed to help ease the financial burden on parents ahead of the next academic year is back in Ashton-under-Lyne.
Ladysmith Shopping Centre is holding its School Uniform Exchange for the second successive year.
Families are invited to visit the former Card Zone store, opposite Greggs in the centre, from 10am to 4pm on Saturday, July 26, and Saturday, August 2.
The centre was inundated with so many donations last year that they have enough for this year.
The pre-loved school uniform items, such as shirts and trousers, are free of charge but donations are encouraged to support the centre’s new Charity of the Year.
This is The Anthony Seddon Fund, a charity based in Ashton-under-Lyne which is dedicated to providing mental health support.
Ladysmith is supporting families further as the first 50 customers who make a donation will receive a free stationery bundle.
“Looking after the younger generation is essential for securing a bright future,” said the centre’s manager, Ian Pratt.
“Providing support to Ashton families as they prepare for their children to return to school is something that I’m very passionate about.
“We’re thrilled to bring back the Uniform Exchange and continue supporting the community.”
