‘Bee-rilliant’ effort as Tameside landlady walks for charity

A Tameside landlady is creating a real buzz as she prepares to walk a marathon dressed as a bee to raise money for charity.

Ellie Öri, landlady of The Halfway House pub on Manchester Road in Droylsden, will be buzzing between a number of Joseph Holts pubs on Friday, July 25, all in aid of Manchester’s Wood Street Mission.

Founded in 1869, Wood Street Mission is a children’s charity that supports families living on low incomes in Manchester and Salford.

The charity provides essential items such as clothing, toys and school supplies, all free of charge, helping thousands of children each year.

Ellie’s walk is a sweet way to support a serious cause, and she’s hoping the local community will get behind her.
