PUPILS at Audenshaw Primary School were able to chat to the Deputy Prime Minister on a visit to Parliament.
Youngsters from the Ash Street school visited the Education Suite in Westminster on Thursday, June 19.
They had the opportunity to speak to their local MP Angela Rayner, who spoke to the school council about a range of topics.

They included Larry the Downing Street cat, what it’s like to prepare for Prime Minister’s Questions (PMQs), their school fair and sports day.
Incidentally, Ms Rayner was on the receiving end of questions from Shadow Home Secretary Chris Philp at PMQs the day before the school’s visit – deputising for Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer who was at the G7 summit in Canada.
The children also told Ms Rayner they will be writing to her soon about fundraising for their new playground equipment – something she said she was looking forward to.
The Labour MP – who is also the Housing, Communities and Local Government Secretary – promised the pupils she would visit them at school as soon as possible.
Following boundary changes prior to last year’s general election, Ms Rayner’s constituency now comprises Audenshaw, as well as Ashton-under-Lyne, Droylsden and Dukinfield.
The Correspondent reported recently that prefects and school council members from Audenshaw School – the town’s all-boys secondary school – also quizzed Ms Rayner when she visited the Hazel Road establishment.
