THE MAN behind a Droylsden restaurant is looking to open up in Stalybridge.
Mohammed Mansoor, who is involved with Tortuga on Craven Street, has agreed to move into the site of Maloka, on Corporation Steet.
And a licensing application to Tameside Council has revealed the premises will soon be called La Casa Tortuga.

Mr Mansoor hopes to open until 10pm on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.
On Sunday, the proposed closing time is 9pm.
Maloka opened in December 2024 but after just a few months and early success, its owners announced its closure after a number of issues, including staffing and ill health.
They said: “After great thought, consideration and plenty of tears, we have decided that the best option for us is to close at this time to concentrate on getting better and to spend our time with family.”
Tortuga, which specialises in serving African and Caribbean food, has been open in Droylsden for five years.
And its addition to Stalybridge would see another boost in what is becoming a bourgeoning food and drink scene.
Tameside Council’s licensing department will decide whether to grant or refuse the application.
