Dukinfield primary school ‘hops’ to success for Willow Wood Hospice

CHILDREN at a Dukinfield primary school have gone ‘hopping mad’ in aid of charity, and raised more than £900 in the process.

Lyndhurst Primary School, part of the Victorious Academies Trust, took part in a special Bunny Hop event to raise money for Willow Wood Hospice, collecting a fantastic £909.50 for the local cause.

The Easter-themed fundraiser saw children bouncing into action with sponsored hops and fun-filled activities, all in the spirit of supporting the hospice’s vital work.

To celebrate their achievement, the school held a special assembly where pupils presented a cheque to Willow Wood representatives.

Woody the Bear, the hospice’s much-loved mascot, made a surprise appearance, delighting students and staff. The donation was handed over by the school’s head students, alongside head teacher Gemma Patterson.

Willow Wood Hospice provides specialist palliative care for people with life-limiting illnesses across Tameside and Glossop, offering support not only to patients but also to their families and carers.
