Hyde community leader receives MBE in King’s Birthday Honours

A HYDE man who has dedicated himself to helping his community has been honoured with an MBE.

Mohammad Abdul Musabbir, chairman of Hyde Bangladesh Welfare Association, has received the accolade in the King’s Birthday List.

The servant has recognised for services to community cohesion after helping raise funds for people in the area for several years.

Feats also include £20,000 to help build a school in a region of Bangladesh devastated by a cyclone.

And he admits he is bowled over to be included alongside luminaries including the now Sir David Beckham.

He also hopes it can inspire others to make sure those around them are better served.

Mr Musabbir said: ” I am truly humbled and honoured to receive this MBE.

“I want to thank all the incredible people who have been a part of this journey with me, and I hope this inspires others to make a difference in their communities.”

Mr Musabbir is a long-standing volunteer for Hyde Bangladesh Welfare Association, to whom he has dedicated his time and energy to much incredible charitable work.

General Secretary Ali Reza said: “We are incredibly proud to have Mohammad Abdul Musabbir as a part of our organisation.

“This MBE is a well-deserved recognition of his dedication and hard work. His tireless efforts have made a significant impact on the lives of many people.”
