Voting opens for Ashton Independent Retail Awards

SHOPPERS in Ashton-under-Lyne can put their favourite trader forward to win one of the town’s business awards.

The Ashton Independent Retail Awards are back and the polls are open for votes to be cast in a number of categories.

Hard work being put in by independent businesses to attract shoppers to the town once again is more of the focus in 2025.

So, the footprint covered by the awards will be dedicated solely to that area.

This includes Stamford Street, George Street, Old Street, Katherine Street, Oldham Road, Penny Meadow, Fletcher Street, Market Street, Booth Street, Henrietta Street, Bow Street, Warrington Street, Market Avenue, Wood Street, Delamere Street, Booth Street, Wellington Street, Cavendish Street, Bentinck Street and St Michael’s Square. Traders located at Ashton’s market and market ground, as well as independents operating in its shopping centres are also eligible.

Categories that you can nominate in are:

Fashion/Footwear

Fresh Food

Cafe/Take away
