A NEW exhibition has opened in Cambridgeshire featuring iconic Doctor Who characters created by a group of local fundraising volunteers.
Peterborough Museum is currently home to a raft of monsters and props from the BBC show created by Hyde Fundraisers.
The unofficial Doctor Who exhibition called Adventures in Time & Space is thought to be one of the most extensive displays of Doctor Who artefacts in over a decade.

Curated by Derek Handley, a member of Hyde Fundraisers who has extensive costume and prop-making experience, the exhibition features contributions from many collectors and prop makers.
The characters include Cyberman, Scarecrow, Silurians, Clockwork Droid, Daleks, Pug Slave and Judoon Weeping Angel.
“That’s just the tip of the monster menagerie,” said Steve Haines from Hyde Fundraisers. “There are so many incredible displays in this exhibition, and we are proud to be just a small part of it.
“During the run of the exhibition, we shall also be making some appearances at the museum with lots of surprises waiting for fans of all ages.”

The display was officially opened last weekend by former Doctor Who companion and Blue Peter presenter Peter Purves. Hyde Fundraisers also made a donation to support the work of The Salvation Army.

Tickets for the exhibition, which runs until November 2, can be found at https://peterboroughmuseum.org.uk/events/adventures-in-time-space
Meanwhile, plans are beginning for the Hyde Fundraisers’ Sci-Fi Day in Ashton-under-Lyne on Saturday, July 5 – which will be supported once again by Tameside Markets, Arcades Shopping Centre, Ladysmith Shopping Centre and Ashton Town Team.
