ORGANISERS of a popular event which packs a Tameside village green have promised that this year’s event will be “even bigger and better than last year”.
They have confirmed what visitors can expect at The ‘Festival on the Green’ this summer.
The event on Wedneshough Green will be held on Saturday, June 7, from 11am to 4.30pm.
There will be 36 artisan stalls in total, selling lots of handmade gifts.
A climbing wall, axe throwing, pony rides, hook-a-duck and a circus skills workshop will be among the activities on offer, against the backdrop of live music.
If that’s not enough, throw in a drum roots workshop, a classic car show, an RSPCA dog show, a balloon modeller, and a wriggly roadshow too.
On top of the fun for all the family, there will be food, drink and ice cream available to buy on the day.
The festival is organised by the Friends of Hollingworth group, which puts on regular events throughout the year to bring people of all ages together from the local community.
Entry is free but cash donations are welcome, which will go towards the Friends group’s fund towards organising next year’s event.
