‘IDIOTS’ have been criticised for the scenes that marred an Easter Tameside football derby.
Punches were seen to be thrown and drinks aimed at rival groups of supporters during Mossley AFC’s 2-2 draw with Stalybridge Celtic on Easter Monday, April 21.
In the second half, a group made its way from the School End of Seel Park, where Celtic supporters were gathered, to the Park End, which was housing home supporters.

And after chanting between them, as Mossley AFC took a 2-0 lead, scuffles clearly broke out between the two.
Stewards quickly formed a barrier between the factions and a tannoy announcement called for the ‘idiots’ to behave themselves.
Thankfully the presence of security calmed any situation before it got out of control and at the end of the game, the line stayed, making sure nothing flared up as the 1,318 supporters made their way out.
CCTV of the incident will now be reviewed, with details of anyone identified being passed on to Greater Manchester Police.
