JOBSEEKERS across Tameside were supported in the next step of their career or education at a Spring Jobs Fair.
Over 900 residents called in to link up with local employers and organisations at Dukinfield Town Hall.
More than 40 employers and 20 training providers were present at the event, organised by Tameside Council’s Employment and Skills team.
Attendees on the day received first-hand support during the application process and some even had interviews arranged on the spot.
Casual work, full-time work and training opportunities were on offer for residents and there was bespoke support available from Routes to Work, Work Well, Tameside in Work, Tameside Futures and other council teams to help promote employment and upskilling.
A councillor has hailed the success of the free-to-attend event.
“The great turnout shows that events like these are really important to residents, offering valuable support to residents to help them gain work and training opportunities,” said Councillor Leanne Feeley, Tameside Council’s Executive Member for Lifelong Learning and Culture.
“It is great to see that over 900 attendees came along to make the most of the support and roles that local employers are recruiting for. It’s a real partnership effort between employers and the council.

“Thank you to the teams that organised this brilliant event, and the employers, organisations and businesses involved in helping make the event such a success while supporting residents to find the available jobs in Tameside.”
