Hyde Junior parkrun set to celebrate 300th milestone

HYDE Junior parkrun is set to celebrate its 300th event on Sunday, April 27.

Since its inception in October 2017, the weekly 2km run in Hyde Park has welcomed over 1,400 children aged 4 to 14, promoting fitness and community spirit in a fun, non-competitive environment.

Held every Sunday at 9am, the event encourages participants to run, jog, or walk at their own pace. Children are rewarded with wristbands upon completing 11, 21, and 50 runs – equivalent to half marathon, full marathon, and ultramarathon distances.

Notably, ten young runners have achieved over 100 runs, earning special recognition.

The parkrun often features themed events, with participants dressing up for occasions like Halloween and Christmas. The record attendance stands at 87 juniors, set in 2024.

To join the celebration or participate in future events, families can register for free at Hyde Junior parkrun.
