WE’VE all heard of the Easter Bunny, right?
A small non-profit organisation based in Hyde needs your help to ensure their own bunnies are fed this Easter.
Noah’s ART delivers pet therapy services for people with mental health struggles.
It has launched a fundraising drive to help raise money towards the care of its rescued therapy animals.
The team is asking people to donate the cost of an Easter egg to help feed the therapy bunnies and guinea pigs.
A donation of £5 would provide fresh vegetables for the bunnies for a day.
Noah’s ART says it’s looking to the community for support after what has been “an extremely tough year or two” for the organisation, which offers a range of services suitable for all ages based around animals, nature and creativity.
“With a background of never-ending increases to our overheads, supplies, staff costs, etc. etc., this last year we also lost our Lottery funding,” they explained in a statement.
“This has meant job losses, staff hours cut and vital services axed or downsized as a result. Then, we lost our building at Borough Arcade to a caved-in roof and flood, and still had to keep paying the rent even though we couldn’t use it.
“Like many other organisations and individuals recently, we’ve had to make some incredibly tough decisions in order to keep the lights on.
“Despite it all, Noah’s ART has pushed through thanks to the kindness and strength of our supporters, staff, clients and wonderful volunteers.
“Our animals’ welfare remains top priority, so any penny you can spare this Easter will go towards their ongoing care and upkeep.”
