POLICE are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in Denton.
A man in his 20s was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening after the incident at an address on Yew Tree Road.
Now after attending the property at about 3.10pm on Wednesday, April 2, Greater Manchester Police has appealed for witnesses, or anyone who may have crucial information which may assist with the progression of the investigation, to come forward.
A man in his 20s and a woman in her 40s are currently on police bail pending further enquiries after being arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and assisting an offender respectively.
But Det Insp Ian Parker, of GMP’s Tameside district said: “Following an incident in Denton, we have acted swiftly to detain two individuals.
“I would like to reassure our community that we believe this to be a targeted attack.
“We take knife-related incidents incredibly serious at Greater Manchester Police and are determined to secure justice for the victim, who thankfully, did not receive any life-threatening injuries.
“Incidents such as this one will understandably cause concern, our officers will maintain a visible presence in the area, and we encourage anyone with information to come forward as we continue our investigation.”
