THE team behind the £23 million project to replace an ageing motorway bridge in Denton is opening its doors to the public this month.
There’s a chance to get behind-the-scenes insight into the new bridge which spans the M67.
National Highways is working with its partner Tilbury Douglas to deliver the bridge that carries St Anne’s Road and essential utilities over the busy motorway – which is due to be completed next year.

As part of the national Open Doors Get into Construction initiative, the team is inviting visitors to meet the professionals behind the project and tour the site.
Open Doors showcases the wide variety of careers available in the construction industry, offering a chance to learn about the job roles involved, understand the work being carried out, and get a close-up view of the ongoing works.
Visitors – which can include college and school students – will be able to attend one of five one-hour sessions at the site office located next to the bridge.
A presentation about the project will feature drone and time-lapse footage documenting the demolition and construction progress to date, providing an understanding of the work completed and what lies ahead.
Mangat Bansal, National Highways’ Programme Delivery Manager, said: “We are proud to be taking part in this year’s Open Doors programme to provide the community with an opportunity to find out more about our work and inspire the engineers of tomorrow.
“Our programme of works to deliver the replacement bridge have gone extremely well and we are looking forward to sharing what we’ve done and explaining the next phases to come.”
Claire Firbank, for Tilbury Douglas, added: “We are excited to be part of Open Doors again this year and several schools and colleges will be joining us. The initiative was a huge success last year and we received lots of positive feedback. There has been keen interest and a high demand for places, with only a few spots left for anyone who would like to join us.”
Anyone interested in booking one of the few remaining places for a one-hour visit between 10am and 11am on Wednesday, March 19, can email Claire at claire.firbank@tilburydouglas.co.uk or visit the Open Doors Get into Construction website for more information and reserve your place at https://opendoors.construction.
