POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a young girl was hit by a car on a busy road in Tameside.
Officers were called to a collision involving a car and a pedestrian on Mottram Road in Hyde on Wednesday afternoon (March 5).
The pedestrian, who was a nine-year-old girl, was taken to hospital for further treatment.
Greater Manchester Police say her injuries, at this stage, are not believed to be life threatening or life changing.
A 47-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
He has now been bailed pending further enquiries.
Police are calling on anyone who may have witnessed the collision – which happened at 4pm near to Werneth Road – to come forward.
Officers are keen to speak to anyone who may have any footage – including dashcam or mobile phone footage – from the area in the moments leading up to the collision.
