FUNDS raised from Tameside Rotary’s Santa float collection will be distributed to organisations who support community life across the borough.
Local groups, charities, clubs and societies can now apply for grants of up to £500.
Throughout the year, kind-hearted Rotarians – who are volunteers – hold fundraising events from which the proceeds are distributed back into the community.

A fantastic £8,000 was donated by residents and businesses as Rotarians visited 14 locations during December 2024 for its annual Santa sleigh tour.
Last year, Tameside Rotary’s community cash awards scheme called ‘Small Grants, Big Difference’ supported 25 local community groups – from projects like a day trip for disadvantaged families to the provision of therapeutic wellbeing sessions.
A spokesperson for Tameside Rotary said: “We are seeking to fund or part fund inspiring ideas, actions or projects which are about people and communities coming together to improve things in their area of Tameside.
“Funds are limited but we will strive to allocate cash awards as effectively, fairly and widely as possible given the current climate.”
The closing date for groups to apply is March 28.
