Conductor struck in face at Hattersley train station

POLICE have issued a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to after a train conductor was hit in the face at a station in Tameside.  

Detectives from British Transport Police are investigating the late-night incident.

It happened on Wednesday, January 15, at around 10pm on the platform at Hattersley train station.

Police want to speak to this man over the incident

Police say a man approached the train as it was leaving and hit the conductor in the face through the open window.

Officers believe the man in the CCTV image may have information that can assist their enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or recognises the man is asked to contact BTP by texting 61016 or calling 0800 40 50 40, quoting reference number 737 of January 15.

Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
