Bunny hunt hops into action for adoption awareness

A SPECIAL scavenger hunt with an important message has got Tameside folk bouncing into action in the run-up to Easter.

Anyone can take part in trying to find a bunny mascot for the chance of winning a £20 Amazon voucher.

Tameside’s regional adoption agency, Adoption Now, is sending their mascot ‘Bobbert the Bunny’ on an adventure in a bid to encourage people to find out more about adoption and consider whether they could offer a loving home to local children who need them most.

The cut-out of the bunny – named after the agency’s six local authority areas Bolton, Oldham, Blackburn with Darwen, Bury, Rochdale and Tameside – is hiding in popular destinations across these areas.

There is a special QR code for people to scan and enter the prize draw.

Families are being encouraged to join in the fun before March 30, and there are hints and clues as to where Bobbert can be found on Adoption Now’s social media channels.

Katrina Williams, Head of Service at Adoption Now, said: “We hope that lots of families and residents will join us in the hunt for Bobbert the Bunny; you never know he could be a hare aware from you!

“But whilst this is a bit of fun it’s really important to remember that we need adoptive families for a wide range of children, now more than ever, as the gap between the number of children needing adoption and the number of families coming forward to adopt is widening.

“So, hop to it and tell everyone you know about it too so we can share this important message with as many people as possible and hopefully we can find some fantastic adoptive families for our children.”
