Mossley podcaster inspires with ‘Follow the Dream’ journey

THROUGHOUT his life, Jordan Anderton has not let his disabilities get in the way of his two huge passions – radio and music.

Fittingly, the podcast he now helps to record and produce is called ‘Follow the Dream’ – which is exactly what he is doing.

Jordan, who has a twin sister called Sophie, was born premature at 28 weeks with profound disabilities – cerebral palsy, hydrocephalus and epilepsy, as well as having asthma and being visually impaired.

Despite this, his auntie Dawn Mullaney describes the 34-year-old from Mossley as “a trouper”.

Explaining Jordan’s broadcasting journey, she told The Correspondent: “He was given an opportunity to get involved with Tameside Radio as a volunteer and presented small bits on the radio.

“He teamed up with Scott Bruton who presented shows and they were given a slot to do a recording – facilitated by an amazing man called Andy Peacock. This was the highlight of Jordan’s life and he met friends and became an integral part of something special.”

When Andy – who started his 30+ year career in radio at Piccadilly Key 103 in Manchester – established Positive Media Company CIC, he got in touch with Jordan and has supported him with the podcast.

Since January 2023, Jordan has regularly recorded episodes of ‘Follow The Dream’ alongside Andy (a.k.a. Bossman) and fellow co-host Kevin Orchard, from Hyde, from the studio in a shipping container in Ancoats.

It’s based on his dream of interviewing people from the world of media, from radio to social media.

Jordan would love to chat to anyone working in broadcast and social media – two of the top interviewees on his wishlist are Mike Sweeney from BBC Radio Manchester and Tameside social media influencer Tom Syndicate.

However, his dream interview is media personality and actress Amanda Holden – which essentially marks the end of the road for the podcast.

“I’m really proud to support Jordan’s inspiring podcast,” said Andy. “His ultimate dream is to interview his idol, Amanda Holden, so along the way I’ll delve into my little black book of broadcasting contacts to help him achieve the dream!

“The excitement Jordan brings to the studio is fantastic. He’s truly living and following his dream! I’m surprised he gets any sleep between our twice monthly recording sessions.”

The podcast is available on Spotify, Apple and all major platforms – you can find out more and catch up on past episodes here: https://audioboom.com/channels/5088436-follow-the-dream

The final question in any interview Jordan does is “do you have Amanda Holden’s number in your phone?”

So, if you do, get in touch with the podcast!
