STALYBRIDGE is now home to a member of one of women’s rugby league’s top teams after her talents saw her signed up.
Tracy Ojeaburu, who lives on Quarry Rise, is now a St Helens player after they spotted her performances.
Despite hailing from Tameside, the college student excelled in rugby league at Rochdale Mayfield ARLFC and Littleborough in rugby union.
And linking up with the Women’s Super League grand finalists is the next stage of her development.
Described as ‘quite shy and reserved until she gets on the pitch,’ Tracy represented Lancashire’s Under-18s at rugby union when she was aged 14.
The former pupil at Mossley Hollins High School also played football for Denton Town.
Now she is set to take her place in the elite St Helens set up, with her arrival seeing her greeted by England women’s captain Jodie Cunningham.
Rugby league is not alien to Tracy’s family as brother Kelvin plays for Saddleworth Rangers ARLFC.
