Nominate your favourite Denton businesses for award

DENTON residents are once again being invited to nominate their favourite local businesses for an award.

MP Andrew Gwynne has officially launched his Local Business Awards for 2024.

The awards are an annual competition organised by Gwynne, which encourages constituents to put forward businesses that deserve to be celebrated across Denton as well as, for the first time, Gorton.

There will be a winner for each ward that makes up the constituency, as well as one overall winner.

Last year, there were over 9,700 votes cast for more than 200 businesses. The overall winner was Cafe Plus in Denton, with slimming group Beeweighed receiving a special commendation.

The Labour MP – who is also a Public Health Minister – will announce the winners on Small Business Saturday, which falls on December 7.

Gwynne said: “I’m very excited to welcome the new areas of the constituency in Gorton, Burnage, Longsight and Levenshulme to the competition, and to welcome back the businesses within Denton. I can’t wait to see what businesses are nominated!”

All nominees need to be in the Denton and Gorton parliamentary constituency.
