Halloween party to help support school’s fundraising campaign

THERE will be no tricks, just treats at a Halloween party in Denton this week.

The fun event will help to raise funds to replace a local school’s minibus, which was stolen during the summer holidays.

The event is at Denton Cricket Club on Thursday (October 31).

From 4.30pm to 7.30pm, there will be a bouncy castle, a DJ playing music, raffle prizes, and much more.

Entry is £1 per person and visitors are invited to wear fancy dress – so get your spooky costumes ready!

The party will support St John Fisher RC Primary in Haughton Green, which is hoping to raise £15,000 towards buying a new minibus.

The school’s stolen minibus was named after its former deputy head teacher Charlotte Conlon, who died in May 2016 at the age of 32 from cancer.

The minibus was donated in her memory by her parents so that pupils could be transported to swimming lessons, sports events, school trips and work within the community.
