Fang-tastic twist on classic tale set for Tameside theatre

A DARK and sensual retelling of a classic tale will soon be played out on a Tameside stage.

In the month of Halloween, audiences at Guide Bridge Theatre will be treated to a twist on Bram Stoker’s novel ‘Dracula’.

The play follows the haunting tale of Count Dracula, a centuries-old vampire who travels from Transylvannia to Victorian England, in search of new victims and eternal life.

As the mysterious deaths and disappearances escalate, a group of individuals – including the determined Professor Abraham Van Helsing – strive to uncover the truth and put an end to Dracula’s reign of terror.

The adaptation coming to the Audenshaw theatre is from Liz Lochhead, an award-winning poet and writer who was the National Poet of Scotland from 2005 to 2011.

Directed by Ben Hanley, this version is suitable for 16 year olds and above.

There are performances every evening at 7.30pm from Monday, October 21, to Saturday, October 26, inclusive and a 2pm Saturday matinee.

Tickets can be booked on the Guide Bridge Theatre website at https://www.ticketsource.co.uk/gbt/e-bdaple
