Tameside talent in good Voice after TV appearance

A GIRL from Denton has showed she has the Voice for stardom with a stunning TV appearance.

Kealeigh Robertson wowed audiences of The Voice UK on Saturday, October 5, with a powerful performance of James Arthur’s emotional hit, Train Wreck.

Before taking to the stage, the 23-year-old shared her reasons for joining the competition.

Currently working at Nando’s, she described her day-to-day life as far from glamorous.

“I’m grilling, I’m sweating, it’s chaotic,” said the mother of one-year-old son Luca.

But her hopes for The Voice were clear as she added: “I’ve come on The Voice to put down the hair net and the grill forks and try to change my family’s life for the better.”

Despite her nerves, Kealeigh confidently delivered her performance, hoping for all four coaches to turn their chairs.

While that did not happen, legendary coach Sir Tom Jones hit his red button, securing her a place on his team.

With her hand covering her mouth in disbelief, Kealeigh was overcome with emotion when Sir Tom chose her.

Offering high praise, the veteran singer said: “I liked it, that’s why I hit my button.

“You sounded like you meant it and brought a freshness to your voice that is uplifting. I think you’ve got a wonderful voice, and I believe we’re going to do great things together.”

Other coaches offered encouraging words as well. “You have a really beautiful pop voice,” said LeAnn Rimes, acknowledging Kealeigh’s potential.

Danny Jones and Tom Fletcher of McFly, the show’s first ever duo coaches, admitted, “We didn’t turn because we’re starting to overthink things, but you’ve got an amazing voice.”

Black Eyed Peas frontman, will.i.am, had high praise for Sir Tom’s keen ear, remarking that the Welsh star has a habit of finding the competition’s, ‘threats.’

He hinted that Kealeigh could be one of those singers who surprise everyone as the competition progresses.

Now officially part of Sir Tom’s team, Kealeigh’s journey on The Voice has just begun, and fans from Denton and beyond will be rooting for her to continue flying the flag for Tameside on the national stage with hundreds of people, including her father, showing their support across social media.

As the competition heats up, viewers are sure to see more of Kealeigh as she competes for the title and a chance to change her life.
