Fairfield High School joins Stamford Park Trust

A DROYLSDEN high school has linked up with other educational establishments in Tameside by joining a multi-academy trust.

Fairfield High School for Girls is now part of the Stamford Park Trust, alongside Longdendale High School, Dukinfield’s Rayner Stephens and Ashton Sixth Form College.

According to the group, it will further enhance educational opportunities and outcomes for students at its newest member.

It also creates new opportunities for collaboration, with the academies able to share best practices, resources, and expertise, ultimately enriching the educational experience for all students.

Chief executive of Stamford Park Trust, Anton McGrath, said: “We are delighted that a school of the calibre of Fairfield has joined Stamford Park Trust.

“We are looking forward to working and collaborating with the staff at Fairfield to build on the school’s already outstanding record and to help us improve the life chances of all young people in our academies.

“The school joins the Trust at an exciting time. We have seen significant improvements in outcomes for students this year, which vindicates our approach of collaboration and the sharing of good practice.

“Together as a family of academies, we strive to deliver a world-class education that supports each and every student in achieving their ambitions.”

The decision by Fairfield High School for Girls to join Stamford Park Trust was made with careful consideration by its governing body.

It will now be supported by Melanie Wicks, its Executive Headteacher (Secondary), who leads on all areas of school improvement and development, including quality assurance, curriculum design, teaching and learning, and staff development.

And it believes that with this support, it is well-positioned to continue its journey towards an outstanding Ofsted rating.

Fee Lealman, interim headteacher of Fairfield High School for Girls, added: “I am delighted that we are now part of this family of academies where we can work in partnership and collaborate to achieve the very best for all our pupils.

“This brings new opportunities and benefits for those in our school community and beyond.

“Our values are aligned with the trust and we will continue to work towards achieving the very best outcomes for our pupils, supporting the vision of excellence and ambition for all.

“This is an exciting time in the life of Fairfield and we’re looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together.”

Bev Worthington, Chair of the Trustee Board, commented: “The Trustees sought to secure a partnership with a multi-academy trust (MAT) that would ensure the continued success of our school whilst creating opportunities for further development both in educational standards and for our local communities.

“SPT presented the opportunity to fulfil these expectations. We are delighted to join the MAT and look forward to its success in the future.”
