Dracula to descend on Guide Bridge Theatre this Autumn

THE haunting and timeless tale of Dracula is set to take the stage at Guide Bridge Theatre in Audenshaw this October.

Adapted by celebrated Scottish poet and playwright Liz Lochhead, this retelling of Bram Stoker’s iconic novel will run from Monday, October 21 to Saturday, October 26.

Lochhead’s adaptation of the classic delves into the sinister world of Count Dracula, the centuries-old vampire who leaves his remote Transylvanian castle for the bustling streets of Victorian England in search of new victims.

As death and disappearances mount, a determined group, led by the formidable Professor Abraham Van Helsing, races against time to uncover Dracula’s dark secrets and stop his reign of terror.

Liz Lochhead, who served as Scotland’s Makar (National Poet) from 2005 to 2011, brings a fresh and lyrical dimension to this gothic horror.

Her adaptation is set to balance the dark, seductive atmosphere of Stoker’s original story with a modern twist, creating an atmospheric theatre experience.

Directed by Ben Hanley, this production promises to immerse audiences in the mysterious world of Dracula.
