TAMESIDE Sea Cadets gathered in full ceremonial attire for their esteemed Royal Naval Parade on Thursday evening at their headquarters on Lower Wharf Street.
This event was attended by a host of dignitaries, officers, families and supporters of the unit.
Among the distinguished guests was the Civic Mayor of Tameside, Cllr Betty Affleck, who joined various Sea and Royal Marines Cadet Officers in witnessing the cadets’ presentations and inspections.
The evening commenced with the cadets showcasing their unit, activities and training through informative presentations.
A meticulous inspection of the cadets in their No1 uniforms by the Area Officer took place.
Following the formalities, attendees were treated to light refreshments and had the opportunity to tour the unit, engaging with cadets to learn more about their experiences and achievements.
The Cadets at Tameside have been through a difficult couple of years following the Covid-19 pandemic and aimed to make the evening a celebration of what they have achieved and how the Unit has gone from strength to strength.
Tameside Sea Cadets are integral to the local community providing young people with invaluable skills and opportunities that prepare them for success in today’s world.
Through a diverse range of activities and adventures, cadets learn teamwork, respect, loyalty, self-confidence, commitment, self-discipline, and honesty – essential qualities for personal development.
