Hurst Festival to bring more family fun to Ashton

A FUN day out for all of the family is being held once again in the Hurst area of Ashton-under-Lyne.

The Hurst Festival is organised by Smallshaw-Hurst Children’s Community, supported by the charity Save the Children, in conjunction with Ashton United in the Community and Jigsaw Homes.

It will take place in Cedar Park on Queens Road on Thursday, August 22, from midday to 3pm.

There will be circus skills, festival facial art, face painting, a bouncy castle and other inflatables.

And if that’s not enough, there will be street food, an ice cream van, arts and crafts, music and dancers, and a petting zoo.

Everyone is welcome to attend the event, which is now in its seventh year.

Rain didn’t stop families ending the summer holidays on a high last year, as over 1,000 local children, parents, grandparents and carers turned out to join in the fun.
