PEOPLE looking to protect and preserve the Tame Valley recruited a little help as a Scout group joined their efforts.
The Friends of the Tame Valley (FOTV) were assisted by members of 4th Denton, who are based at Tameside Wellness Centre, in a mass litter pick of Jet Amber Fields.
As summer finally shows its face, the area which straddles the border between the town and Hyde is much busier – resulting in more litter.
But a group of volunteers got busy and gave the area a good tidy up, ensuring it continues to look its best, with help from the Scouts.
Andrew Gwynne, FOTV Secretary, said “I want to thank the fantastic crew from 4th Denton Scouts Group, who did a brilliant job at tidying up Jet Amber Fields.
“While the Valley being busier over summer is a good thing, it does sadly increase the amount of litter to clear.
“So having the help of the Scouts was very much appreciated, as we aim to keep the area looking bright and welcoming.
“It’s great to see such a community spirit to getting stuck in to protecting and preserving the valley, and I would urge any other local groups who want to get involved to get in touch.”
