THE cost of living crisis continues to make it hard for people to make ends meet amid increased bills.
In Tameside, the council is reminding people that support is available with a variety of issues for all residents across the borough.
The Welfare Rights team have organised Helping Hands sessions through Tameside’s family hubs, which will provide advice and information as well as signpost people who are struggling financially.

People can pop in to the following drop-in sessions:
Stalybridge: East Family Hub, Ridge Hill Children’s Centre, School Crescent, Ridge Hill (SK15 1EA). Every second Tuesday of the month, from 10:30am to 11:30am.
Hyde: South Family Hub, Flowery Field Children’s Centre, Old Road, Hyde (SK14 4SQ). Every first Tuesday of the month, from 10am to 11am.
Ashton-under-Lyne: North Family Hub, St Peter’s Children’s Centre, Trafalgar Square (OL7 0LL). Every third Monday of the month, from 2pm to 3pm.
Denton: West Family Hub, Tameside Wellness Centre, Lance Corporal Andrew Breeze Way (M34 3RD). Every last Friday of the month, from 10am to 11am.
Councillor Eleanor Wills, Executive Member for Population Health and Wellbeing, said: “The rising cost of living is putting a strain on many households in our community. These Helping Hand sessions are designed to provide practical support and guidance to help residents manage their finances and access essential services.
“We encourage anyone who is struggling to attend these sessions and take advantage of the support available.”
