Don your denim in Stalybridge to raise dementia funds

A FUN and spectacular evening of live entertainment is promised in Stalybridge, in the name of raising vital money for a worthy cause.

Tameside Rotary’s inaugural Denim & Diamonds event is on Friday, July 5, from 8pm at Stanley Square Conservative Club.

The dress code is ‘glam casual’ so attendees are encouraged to wear denim and, if you wish, pair up with ‘bling’ in the form of sparkly tops or accessories.

The gem of a fundraiser will feature two live musical acts – singer Phil Richmond and male vocalist Lee Tatton – to get the audience dancing and singing along.

Not only will they be performing, Phil and Lee will also judge the free ‘best dressed denim & diamonds’ competitions and award prizes.

Rotarians are working alongside local fundraiser Angela Wild to raise awareness and funds for Tameside Dementia in Action and The Alzheimer’s Society.

Su Greaves, lead organiser, said: “We are very grateful to Phil and Lee for supporting this event free of charge and also to our venue who have generously donated their room for the evening, not to mention some beer as prizes!

“We hope people will come along, have a fun evening and in doing so know they are raising funds for two very important charities.”

Tickets are £5 and can be bought online at www.tamesiderotaryclub.com or by sending a message to the ‘Rotary Tameside’ Facebook page.
