All-female comedy with a twist at Guide Bridge

THERE’S still chance to grab tickets for a modern, all-female comedy that’s guaranteed to entertain at Guide Bridge Theatre.

Set in a trendy wine bar in the North of England, Shakers Re-stirred tells the story of a typical night as four waitresses – Carol, Adele, Nicky and Mel – struggle through their long shift, serving demanding customers who come and go.

The play, directed by Quina Chapman, deals with modern culture and tackles issues of sexism, female expectations, prejudice, motherhood and job satisfaction through comedy.

In a twist to the usual practice, the performance will take place in the bar lounge, which the Audenshaw theatre says will provide a “more intimate and immersive experience”.

Written by John Godber and Jane Thornton, the play can be seen on Thursday, June 27, Friday, June 28, and Saturday, June 29 at 7.30pm each evening, as well as a 2pm Saturday matinee.

Tickets are £9 each and can be bought online at
