Family-run cafe celebrates 25 years in business

A FAMILY-RUN cafe in Hyde town centre has just celebrated its silver anniversary.

This year marks 25 years since Rendezvous Cafe, inside Clarendon Square Shopping Centre, first opened its doors.

A firm favourite since 1999, the eatery prides itself on making home-cooked food which is served fresh on the premises.

On Friday, May 3, the owners invited customers to join them for a complimentary glass of fizz to mark the special occasion.

In an emotional social media post, sisters-in-law Carol and Sue thanked everyone for their support over the years and hope the cafe will continue going strong.

“Firstly, we would like to give a special mention to MRS G (aka Mum, Mum-in-Law, Grandma),” they wrote.

“It was always a big dream of hers for us to have our own ‘family cafe’ and she has been our biggest supporter since day one! At the grand young age of 94, she would definitely still put a shift in if we let her.

“A HUGE thank you goes out to our dedicated team past and present. The Rendezvous has seen many new faces amongst staff members over the years, we have rooted out some pictures to share with you!! Remembering also the lovely Kat, who sadly is no longer with us.

“Each and every one of you have been amazing and we wouldn’t be where we are today without your dedication and loyalty.

“Lastly, our family cafe wouldn’t be the success it is today without all our lovely customers, many of which we are happy to call friends! Thank you! Your support and loyalty over the last 25 years has been extremely significant to our success!

“We THANK YOU all for supporting us… here’s to the next 25 years.”
