IT’S all systems go as preparations are finalised for this year’s Stalybridge Spring Show, which promises to be as fun-filled as ever.
A bumper day of activities for all the family in Cheetham Park on Sunday, May 5, will begin at 11am, including live entertainment from midday.
There will be a large family fun fair, hot food stalls and a large number of trader and community stalls.
Once again, the five-metre-high Maypole will take centre stage in the performance area in the park. Members of Sarah England School of Dance will perform three choreographed dances around it.
This year, members of Dukinfield and Stalybridge Rotary Club will also be entertaining the crowd with a performance of their own – which they have been practising under Sarah England’s watchful eye.
For the animal lovers amongst us, a Fun Dog Show will start at 1.45pm. Anyone who wishes to enter their dogs can just turn up and register on the day.
It’s £2 per category to enter and the categories are:
- Dog with the loveliest eyes
- Dog with the waggiest tail
- The cutest puppy
- Best presented dog
- Best rescue dog
The winner of each category will also be competing for the title of Best Dog in Show. There will also be dog agility demonstrations throughout the day in its own performance area.
Young members of Perform With Hart will be showcasing their talents to bring the curtain down on the festivities.
Ian Cochrane, on behalf of Stalybridge Festival Committee, said: “There will be lots of activities for all the family to have a great day in the park and help us raise extra funds towards this year’s Carnival.”
