THE FOURTH generation of a Droylsden business’ family has made it to the top by becoming its first female managing director.
Laura Brierley-Smith has grown up around all things Rodo, which supplies decorating accessories and PPE products and celebrates its centenary in 2026.
Now she has brought change to the Lumb Lane-based firm after being named its first ever female MD as dad Bill, who held that position for more than 30 years, becomes chairman.
Laura’s background and training in human resources saw her enter the company as HR Manager more than 10 years ago.
And her appointment comes at an exciting time for the business, with growth opportunities on several fronts for both its divisions at home and abroad.
As Rodo continues to evolve, sizeable investments in people and technology have been at the forefront of the company’s scope and ambitions.
And Laura is excited for what lies ahead, saying: “I am deeply honoured to be the fourth-generation family member to lead the business.
“Stepping into this role at the end of a record-breaking year fills me with immense pride and the future prospects for the business are incredibly optimistic.
“I am committed to embracing the challenges that lie ahead, fostering innovation, and leading our incredible workforce towards further success.”
