KIND-HEARTED supporters of Mossley AFC football club joined forces with their opposition to gather much-needed donations for the local foodbank.
The initiative, spearheaded by volunteers Hazel Bennison and Natasha Freeman-Kerr, saw an outpouring of generosity from attendees before the club’s fixture against City of Liverpool on March 30 at Seel Park.
Fans arrived at the stadium laden with essential items including tinned food, toiletries and nappies.
As a gesture of appreciation, fans who contributed to the cause were treated to a free hot drink. Alongside them, many supporters generously donated cash totalling £221
The proceeds were swiftly used to purchase additional stock for the Mossley Foodbank. The donations were later delivered to Mossley Youth base where Lindsey Tweed runs the local charity.
Reflecting on the success of the initiative, Hazel expressed her gratitude, stating, “The response from the fans has been overwhelming. It’s incredible to see how our community comes together to support one another, especially during challenging times.”
