POLICE were forced to close a busy Ashton-under-Lyne road because of huge queues of people awaiting an appearance by a rapper.
Aitch will have his SYPS fizzy water brand in 157 branches of Fireaway pizza stores.
And the prospect of the Manchester-born star appearing at the unit on Penny Meadow proved such an attraction, officers were forced to act because of the numbers.
Having touted going to Ashton on Saturday, March 30, on social media, queues stretched along the thoroughfare and it was eventually cordoned off.
Aitch, whose real name Harrison Armstrong and who performed at last year’s Glastonbury Festival, launched SYPS at the beginning of the year.
And the 24-year-old said: “I started SYPS because I needed to drink more water but was addicted to fizzy drinks.
“Water just wasn’t hitting the spot in the same way. So, I thought why not make the best fizzy flavoured water in the world and here it is: zero sugar, zero calories, maximum flavour and loads of fizz.
“I’m really excited to be sharing this with everyone and hope it helps us all stay hydrated.”
Nice to see he stopped off at Ashton Market to buy his outfit before launching his drink!
That’s not aitch that’s scooter… some bang this blonde muppet
I am really interested in a rapper who thinks he has reinvented the “fizzy drink”
Are people so gullible to be taken in with the hype and pay well over the odds for carbonated water I guess they are.
He is a remarkably intelligent young boy who has managed to earn a substantial amount of money in a short period of time. Over 300 scruffy tramps of Tameside eagerly paid £5 each to witness his talents and have the opportunity to take a photograph with him. Tameside, unfortunately, has its fair share of unkempt individuals and those who are easily deceived. Even the reporter covering this story is not exempt from being easily swayed.
Never heard of him. Is he any good or what?
Preferred him when he was in Steps
He’s from Steps
You made me spill coffee everywhere laughing ????
