Public meeting to discuss new Hyde masterplan

A PUBLIC meeting has been arranged to discuss a new masterplan which proposes huge changes for Hyde.

The blueprint, a document spanning more than 80 pages, was approved by Tameside Council’s executive cabinet at a meeting in February.

Among the proposals is to demolish and rebuild Clarendon Square Shopping Centre, as well as house the outdoor and indoor markets in modern facilities close to where they stand now.

Hyde Together CIC has organised a meeting entitled ‘Your Town Needs You’, which will take place at Hyde Town Hall on Thursday, March 21, at 5pm.

The meeting, open to members of Hyde Together CIC and non members, is a chance to meet those involved in the next chapter of the town’s regeneration and share opportunities.

People will also be able to find out how they can get involved, as well as hearing about how it will impact the community and local businesses.

MP Jonathan Reynolds, who represents Hyde in Parliament, has also encouraged local residents to attend if they can.

Anyone interested is asked to confirm their attendance via this webpage https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/GDTJGB3 or by emailing members@hydetogethercic.org.uk
