Bollywood Theme for Mayor’s Charity Ball

BOLLYWOOD comes to Tameside for the Civic Mayor’s charity ball which takes place at  Dukinfield Town Hall on Saturday, March 2.

Entertainment will be provided by the multi-award-winning Ri Ri’s Dance Academy; Dhol Drummers and pioneer of UK Bhangra music, Joga Singh; and the menu features authentic Indian food (including vegetarian option) as well as a more traditional choice.

The Civic Mayor of Tameside, Cllr Tafheen Sharif, said: “Bringing Tameside’s communities together is something that means a great deal to me.

“My charity Bollywood ball is going to be an amazing night, a really special occasion where people can meet and enjoy the Bollywood experience with good food and top-class entertainment while helping some very good causes that are close to my heart.

“I hope we can pack the place because it’s going to be a one-off for Tameside this year.”

The evening starts with a drinks reception at 6.30, followed by the formal dinner at 7.15. Tickets are £45 each. Dress is dinner jacket, lounge suit or cultural attire.

The Civic Mayor’s charity appeal fund comprises Home-Start (HOST), which offers expert support to families with young children that are going through difficult times; West African Development, which helps ethnic minority communities in Tameside, and Pauline Town’s We Shall Overcome, which provides assistance for the homeless.
