TALENTED pupils at a school in Mossley have put on their own version of an American musical comedy film – and audiences absolutely loved it!
First released in 1952, ‘Singin’ in the Rain’ is widely considered to be the greatest Hollywood musical ever made, in which a studio star falls in love with an aspiring actress.
An adaptation of the classic came to the stage of Mossley Hollins High School recently.
Staff, students and parents collaborated to put together the production, which has been deemed a great success.
One of the performances was watched by some of the school’s governors and the Civic Deputy Mayor of Tameside, Councillor Betty Affleck, who really enjoyed the show.
A spokesperson for the Huddersfield Road school said: “A huge congratulations to all of our wonderful cast and crew who have been performing ‘Singin’ in the Rain’.
“A huge thank you to all of the students, parents and staff involved for putting on such brilliant productions every year, and making these opportunities possible within our school.
“The singing was superb, the energy was marvellous and the acting phenomenal. We are all so proud of your dedication, commitment and passion for the arts.”
