Six charged over Dukinfield kidnap

SIX MEN from across the north west have been charged in relation to a kidnap in Dukinfield.

The victim has been found by police and is safe and well after the incident on Wednesday, January 24.

And five people will appear at Manchester’s Minshull Street Crown Court on Thursday, March 1 after being charged with kidnap.

Paul Doherty, 35, and Daniel Hague, 32, both of the Bispham area of Blackpool, Lancashire, have been remanded in custody.

A third, 32-year-old Edward Dowdall, has been released on court bail.

Marshall Redfern, 23 and of Heywood and 28-year-old Joshua Oakes, of Rochdale, will also appear in the dock on that date – both are in custody.

A sixth man, 19-year-old Jack Laferty, of no fixed abode, was charged and remanded with conspiracy to kidnap and concerned in the supply of cocaine.

He was scheduled to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates Court on Monday, January 29.

Two females, aged 18 and 17, were arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to kidnap and have been released on bail pending further enquiries.
